DAY TRIP TO LATROBE

Another very cold day but a lovely visit was had with the ladies of craft to LaTrobe. Of course, I went and did my own thing. While they looked through the patchwork and lace shops I checked out the op-shops and Chickenfeed. Got a peg holder as I guess I will never sew myself one and some bits and pieces of craft for Joeys next week. I brought my packed lunch and sat and ate it in the park. The others were going to Relaquare but decided they would have lunch to so we wondered off to the RSL.

An excellent meal was had by all, apart from me who had a lovely hot chocolate. Will highly recommend this establishment and take the family next time for a devonshire tea.

While the rest went to Relaquair, I went to the Card and Scrapbooking shop but amazingly, didn't buy a thing. It was lovely to look around for an hour then went back to the others. We found another patchwork shop which they said was far better than the first one and I got some bias binding to make another casserole holder which Jenny is going to show me next week.

We got back at 4pm, a very relaxing day. Am putting a bid on a very nice -5 sleeping bag, just 2 hours to go. Let's hope I have more luck than with the back pack. 15 bids already and it is up to $51, don't like my chances but you never know. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=170324634285

SCRAPBOOKING FUN

Fun, fun, fun at Wendy's. After not scrapbooking for so long, took a while last time to get into it but we all got down to a great nights photo logging. Here are my results.

Oh dear, much welcome rain but with ANZAC Day marching tomorrow could cause a dampener on things. Off to camp after that, hmm.

Another terrific Hints Site

http://tipnut.com/eucalyptus-recipes/ Tip Nut is a super terrific site for tips, the best I have found. The recipes for eucalyptus sound great.

Going to card making this morning. Found an excellent book at the library "460 Iris Folded Cards to Make" so will be doing some of these today.

Passed my First Aid Certificate

Friday night went to Camp Boomerang at Port Sorrell to finally do my FIRST AID CERTIFICATE. There were 16 of us, me the only Joey leader, the rest Cub and Scout leaders. The Assessor was Jack, a terrific chap from St. Johns and also a Scout Leader. He made the course so interesting and no question was too silly for him. Just before lunch on Saturday, I suddenly felt very queasy and SO tired. Such a shame because I didn't take much of the session in. Luckily, enough went past my brain to get 8 out of 10 questions correct in both sections. That is Bob in the top pic, we are doing CPR.

Jodie absailing. Obviously, I got the pics the wrong way around!!

Jodie stacking crates. She got to 14 but no-one was tall enough to pass her some more. Only one other person got to 15. That is my behind you can see with the red helmet on and the last one is the result of all the crates falling.

Amber on the rock climbing wall. I was a belayer for stacking crates. These activities took place at Payton Park, another Scout camp, half an hour away from the main camp. The Scouts also did go cart riding, sumo wrestling, absailing and mountain bike riding.

Breakfast, at 7am Sunday morning. Scout activities supposed to started at 8am but they were still milling around when the Cubs and Joeys arrived at 9am. Today, I helped out with the water activities, it wasn't as nice as Saturday but of course, the children didn't care.

Amber on the tyre lunge, the other water activities were water sliding, anything goes and sponge throwing. Brendan of Georgetown Cubs REALLY getting into the spirit of things.
