AJ10 JAMBOREE
Not long to go, will it be raining? Forcast says fine this week but Friday not so good. The advance party is already there putting up the tents. 6 hours a day of helping the scouts with their circus activities - eek. Hopefully I will get a chance to visit the other sites.

Ashgrove Milk YUM YUM YUMMY
Experience the old fashioned flavour of how milk used to taste by buying local. The girls say they now won't have anything else. If that isn't a great advertizement well!

Time flys. My weeks are so full I don't have time to be bored. Finally, I am using my overlocker to my advantage and am very proud of my achievements. The girls are very happy with their new PJ's.
My card making has improved vastly now its Christmas Cards.
After half a year of just 3 Joeys, I now have 7. It's really exciting to see who will turn up each week. Now all I need is another leader but none on the horizon yet.
After a week of laryngitus I am nearly back to normal - it was terrible - me - not being able to talk - AGH.
It's been a week of school athletics. Jodie is doing well with a 1st, 2nd & 3rd which means she will be in the Tamar Team, continuing the Grosvenor tradition.

Cuboree
Amber returned, dirty and tired but speaking ten to the dozen. She had a fabulous time. They made scarves, woggles and a dilly bag for the mess kit. Did canoeing and archery. Even made a new friend from Tamar.
Jodie and I helped for an hour at the Bunnings BBQ. Afterwards, finally bought a can crusher. Now I can get into the mountain of cans.
No catalogues this weekend, felt funny. Guess they will arrive tomorrow. I have it down to just under 2 hours now for the Exeter run and 3 for the drive. Added more houses in all directions and it still took the same time.
Sewing tomorrow, going to have another go at a peg bag. Got a good one from the below blog.

Cuboree at Camp Boomerang, Port Sorrell
This weekend, Amber is at Cuboree which is being held at Camp Boomerang, Port Sorrell. After all the rain we have had over the past 12 weeks, thankfully, just a sprinkling today. Only 4 of the Cubs went. Such a fabulous introduction to Scouting. No-one from Exeter.
Tomorrow, Jodie and I will be doing the last BBQ at Bunnings. A fundraiser for the Jamboree.
Sadly, on Thursday morning, Akala died in her sleep. She is now mercifully, out of pain. The funeral is on Tuesday. Will be a very sad day.

Talk about windy and wet. We are WELL over this weather by now. At least the clothes dried. Another power cut. Oh well, I did some tidying.
Finished Tracy's PJ's. Am so pleased. Cut out Ethan's clown pants today but made a big boo boo by cutting 2 pieces the same. Am going to do a QUILLOW next. That should keep me busy for a while.
Been doing lots of deliveries - great exercise.
Scout fundraiser yesterday made over $500. Another 2 to go. Town this afternoon for a media interview for the upcoming bike ride.

TELCO PLUS - THE NEW ERA OF THE PHONE
Well, we are getting very technical here. Peter is going VOIP . That means we will be using the phone through the computer for just $10 extra a month we can make untimed calls for just 10c anywhere in Australia. Our experience with GLEN of Telco Plus is far and away the best we have ever experienced. He is just a phone call away, none of this hanging on the phone for hours waiting for an impersonal telemarketer. We have been with Telco Plus for over 2 years and have all our mobiles and home phone connected. The mobiles are the best, sometimes just $2 a month - can any other Telco beat that!!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY
Now I am the local catalogue deliverer although after driving 60k last weekend I am not so sure. All I wanted was the Exeter run which takes me 3 hours to walk, funny, today I only received 2 catalogues. Maybe I complained too much!!!
Friday Amber went to a sleep over in Frankford - way down woop woop. Peter had to pick her up Saturday morning but in his usual fashion decided to do some visiting and they didn't get home until 2pm - no lunch - typical of him. I finished my deliveries then off to Joey camp at Carnacoo. There weren't any Joeys from Exeter but that didn't matter. We all went for a very long walk to the Supply River Flour Mill on the way collecting things for the Environmental Bingo which was a great success. I was only staying until tea time but Jodie & Ethan wanted to stay overnight so another trip home to get clothes and back we went. The children went to bed around 9pm but of course were too excited to sleep and it wasn't until the parents retired around 10pm that they fell asleep. With the wild weather, the power went off around 9pm but was on when I woke during the night.Ethan woke in the night coughing terribly but after a spray of Medicated, he was fine until the boys woke at 6.30.
After a few games, we went outside for a bush game luckily because after that the heavens broke and down came the rain again. More games and great craft which I am going to use on Wednesday. Mosaic names and paper bag puppets. After lunch we tidied up and I got home about 1.30 only to find the power had gone off yet again.
Peter was trying to reformat this dreadful computer - ha. It was off around 3 hours, came back long enough to cook some tea then was off again until 6.30, just in time for Dancing with the Stars. Such a terrible pity that Jessica Macnamee was voted off.
Have decided to run Joeys from 4 to 5.15. Let's see what Jennifer has to say about THAT. Last weekend we went to the Museum and did the Rail Trail Badge. The Cubs on Wednesday were attrocious.

Sewing is going really well. Finished Tracy's PJ's, have to get some buttons and elastic. 3/4 made an apron too. Last week I discovered there is a fortnightly scrapbooking class so it was scrapbooking in the morning then cards in the afternoon.
With all this rain there are so many floods. I am so looking forward to seeing the Gorge today. Jodie has an orthodontic appointment and I have got 3 Mystery Shops to do. As I said, BUSY, BUSY, BUSY.

WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!?
Winter is well and truly here, rain, RAIN and yes, more rain. The girls have had one virus after another and so much time off school. The worse one was Amber off for 4 days with what turned out to be gastro but it was different causing severe stomach cramps. Poor thing was rolling around in agony until I got her some tablets and a visit to the Dr. for a Maxilon injection. Thankfully, neither Peter nor I have caught anything (touch wood).
Representing the Exeter Scouts, 4 of us attended a Memorial Service for the founder of Exeter Scouts, Neville Hjort. Of course, it rained but still, the Winkleigh Church was full. It was a lovely ceremony then off to the Uniting Church for a fabulous spread. Straight after that it was off to the Anglican Church for a really enjoyable trivia afternoon. Our table came 3rd.
I am going really well with the overlocker, made another pair of PJ's for Amber yesterday. Cut out one for Tracy and woops, must have used the wrong size as they are ENORMOUS. Got loads of material from Spotlight for $2.99 a metre so will be very busy. It is actually FUN getting into this work.
After many weeks of intense practice, we attended the Scout Gang Show and Riverside won. Jodie did a solo and Amber was a clown doing hoola hoops and jumping on the trampoline then being a lion. Ethan clapped the loudest.
Had a fabulous weekend. Went to Camp Clayton for a scrapbooking workshop and learnt so much. I even got 2nd prize in the raffle. The food and accomodation were 5 STAR. I scrapped until 11pm both nights but over half of the others went until 2, 3 and even 4am both nights TOTALLY MAD. I have finally started on our Mainland trip. Only did 3 pages but am now motivated.
Peter and the girls went to Beaumaris where they met his old work friend, Peter and also Henry & Margaret Birril who invited them over. Jodie got sick Sunday morning with flu type symptoms.
Today I am hopefully going to another scrapbooking class at Tresca then to cards in the afternoon - HO HUM what a WONDERFUL life.

This weekends events

What a weekend. The funeral of the dead bikie was on Saturday, so many bikes drove past. They even had a police escort. Then I heard a commotion outside, Chloe was barking like mad, thought it was next doors. Later I went to give Sam some food only to find he had been attacked by the hawk, sitting dazed near the trampoline.
On Friday, Amber finally got her first Merit Certificate, probably because the teacher knew we would be there to watch her perform the drums!

The week that was
Nothing unusual this week, canteen for both High & Primary Schools. Cards on Tuesday, had a demo from Kazzaz Cards which was fun, town on Wednesday for mystery shops and Rawleigh deliveries then into the museum in the evening for a free look at the new exhibition, bit boring. No Joeys, was to be Thursday but due to a muck up, that was cancelled! Jodie on the bus for Scouts Thursday and now Friday - Sarah visiting and she and Amber are having SUCH fun with the drums and guitar. Amber into town for Cubs and me another Mystery Shop at Mackers...... then off to camp tomorrow.

THE BIG WEEKEND
Took Amber to Cubs then off to do my mystery shop, Rawleigh Delivery Ethan. Saturday, we all went to the revamped Exeter Market while Peter continued with the shelving.
Mothers Day AGH I woke feeling awful and the girls brought me breakfast in bed of pancakes with jam and youghurt. Jodie made me the most wonderful power point Mothers Day card and Amber gave me some lovely things she had made at camp - what a lucky person I am.

DAY AT AGFEST
What a fantastic day we had at Agfest. 9.30 getting home at 3.30. A quick look through the crafts where we only bought some fudge and some special pens for the girls then off on a marathon 7ks around the site. We bought a drill sharpener, scissors & blade sharpener and a chainsaw sharpener - golly Peter's work will be cut out for him now.

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
Took the girls to Port Sorrell for yet another Scout camp. Got there early 1/4 to 6 so we could set up Jodie's tent in the light but the rest of the group, apart from Robbies family, didn't arrive until after 8. This meant getting all the tents including the auto tent up before they went to bed which was after 11pm! Still, by all accounts, they had a good time. Amber got laringitis. Jodie didn't find her camera so no pics.
Peter went to town and on the way back, picked up Ethan to give Tracy a break. As I didn't get home until nearly 10pm, he had to put him to bed - good one! Peter has been madly puttiing up new shelving everywhere. We have now got a lovely new floor to ceiling mirrored wardrobe in the bedroom and it took him just 2 says to put 12 shelves in. Ethan thought it was great fun to ride the tricycle around the garage while Peter was out there.
I have even managed to de weed much of the vegie garden after the wonderful efforts of our French backpackers and now there are lots of broadbeans coming through and hopfully peas very soon.
Back to school today and the mountain (again) of washing.............

DAY TRIP TO LATROBE
Another very cold day but a lovely visit was had with the ladies of craft to LaTrobe. Of course, I went and did my own thing. While they looked through the patchwork and lace shops I checked out the op-shops and Chickenfeed. Got a peg holder as I guess I will never sew myself one and some bits and pieces of craft for Joeys next week. I brought my packed lunch and sat and ate it in the park. The others were going to Relaquare but decided they would have lunch to so we wondered off to the RSL.
An excellent meal was had by all, apart from me who had a lovely hot chocolate. Will highly recommend this establishment and take the family next time for a devonshire tea.
While the rest went to Relaquair, I went to the Card and Scrapbooking shop but amazingly, didn't buy a thing. It was lovely to look around for an hour then went back to the others. We found another patchwork shop which they said was far better than the first one and I got some bias binding to make another casserole holder which Jenny is going to show me next week.
We got back at 4pm, a very relaxing day. Am putting a bid on a very nice -5 sleeping bag, just 2 hours to go. Let's hope I have more luck than with the back pack. 15 bids already and it is up to $51, don't like my chances but you never know. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=170324634285
